Sacraments
In Year 3 our pupils prepare to receive both Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. These are both especially important and a huge step in each child’s faith journey as they tend to be the First Sacraments that the children remember receiving and play an active part in the preparations supported by their families, school and the parish.
Unfortunately due to Lockdown last year our current Year 4 class have received the Sacrament of Reconciliation and have completed the preparation for their First Holy Communion but sadly receiving the sacrament itself had to be postponed last year. We are hopeful that our current Year 4 pupils will be able to receive their First Holy Communion during the summer term and that our Year 3 pupils can continue their preparations for Reconciliation and First Holy Communion so that when we are able to gather together we can celebrate these special sacraments.
Below is the prayer that we use for Reconciliation, it would be lovely if you were to help your child learn this off by heart.
Act of Contrition
O my God, because you are so good,
I am very sorry that I have sinned against you
And by the help of your grace I will not sin again.
Amen.
