Worship

Worship
at St Anne’s Primary School

By always holding Christ in our heads and hearts and walking together in His footsteps, we aspire to lead enriched and wholesome lives.

God is love and is at the very heart of everything that we do.

We learn about Jesus from the Bible stories and try to be more like Him.

We aim to be the very best that we can be, reaching for the stars and believing that we can achieve.

We are role models for others; in our community and globally.

We build relationships with everybody to strengthen our love.

We are faithful to the 5Rs and understand that they are key to our success.

We pray to the Holy Spirit to maintain peace and harmony throughout our learning journey.

We actively encourage our families to worship together at home and play a part in our worshipping community. We provide links to appropriate liturgies and reflections that can be carried out at home which are in line with the Church’s liturgical year. These are available regularly through our ParentApp and school Facebook page.

Our 5 R’s are an integral part of every area of our school life including worship. Developing the children’s Responsibility for their faith and actions, ensuring they are Respectful to themselves and of others including opinions and differences, being Resilient when times are hard and our faith is tested, being Resourceful and finding various ways to worship and grow closer to God and to be ready to follow in Jesus’ footprints whenever possible in our everyday life.

We are extremely lucky to be situated within walking distance of our parish church of St. Anne’s so we are able to attend mass there for Holy Days and special occasions. Fr. Mario also visits the school to celebrate mass in our school hall too throughout the school year.

Prayers

We use a range of prayers for worship throughout the school day, including traditional prayers like The Our Father and The Hail Mary. Below are some of the regular ones that are used.

Morning Prayer

O my God you love me, you’re with me night and day. I want to say I love you in all I do and say.

I’ll try to please you Father, Bless me through the day.

Amen.

Prayer Before Dinner

Bless us O Lord as we sit together; bless the food we eat today.

Bless the hands that make the food; bless those who have no food;

Bless us O Lord.

Amen.

The End of Day Prayer

God our Father I come to say, thank you for your love today.

Thank you for my family and all the friends you give to me.

Guard me in the dark of night and in the morning send your light.

Amen.
